The GIS Division develops and maintains Doņa Ana County's Geographic Information System (GIS). The Division maintains over one hundred layers of information (databases), develops department-specific applications, produces maps, and provides training and technical support to other County departments.

All of the Division's digital data are available to the public for nominal reprographic fees. Some of the data available include street centerlines and names, ETZ zoning, County zoning, and corporate boundaries. County maps are also available for a nominal reprographic fee. (Please note that this does not include the parcel base, which is available from the County Assessor's Office.)

The GIS Division also administers the Road/Street Naming and Addressing Ordinances. The Division assigns physical addresses in Doņa Ana County. The Ordinances are currently being revised, and will be available online in the future.

Awards

In June 2004, the GIS Division was selected to receive a "Special Achievement in GIS" award to be presented by Environmental Systems Research Institute in August at the International Users Conference in San Diego, CA. Doña Ana County's GIS was selected as one of the 150 best from over 100,000 systems worldwide.
