HHS - Alliance
Doņa Ana County Health & Human Services Alliance
The HHS Alliance serves as the primary advisory body to the HHS Department to further improve the health status of Doña Ana County residents. It coordinates the diverse efforts devoted to addressing health and human service needs. The Alliance is a 25-member volunteer board whose membership reflects a cross-section of the community that is consistently represented at meetings and actively in a recomendative role to the HHS Department and the Board of County Commissioners. The Alliance provides the HHS Department with a comprehensive profile of the countys health status, resulting in more informed decision-making. With guidance from the board, the HHS Department maintains effective and efficient methods for utilizing county resources to provide services.

In 2008, the general membership will meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. These meetings will be held at the Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd. in the large conference room on the first floor.

The Executive Committee will meet on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. at the Doņa Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd, in the Health and Human Services Department conference room on the second floor.

In addition, the HHS Alliance has four other standing committees. Those meeting schedules are as follows:
The committees meet as follows:
- Access and Delivery (Access to Care Consortium) - Third Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Doņa Ana County Government Center
- Primary focus of the committee has been development and implementation of a county-wide, web-based Management Information System for eligibility determination in tracking and refunds across modules.
- Data Collection and Evaluation - Second Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Doņa Ana Government Center
- Currently focusing on developing staffing for data collection and evaluation activities in cooperation with Evaluation /HG Framework pilot projects
- Working with the Border Epidemiology Center and other relevant departments at New Mexico State University (providing internship opportunities)
- Prevention and Education - Forth Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Doña Ana Government Center
- Currently focusing on enhancing existing jail diversion, teen pregnancy, sexual assault, and domestic violence prevention/education programs in cooperation with the Teen Pregnancy Prevention pilot project
- Developing a culturally-appropriate prevention/education media campaign to include a media campaign on appropriate use of healthcare resources
- Exploring funding options for tertiary prevention (after care, prescriptions, and equipment)
- Policy First Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Doña Ana Government Center
- o Focusing on ensuring that county healthcare external agency funding applications address the priority issues identified by the strategic planning process by emphasizing prevention/education, access to care, coordination of services, and data collection and evaluation activities.
