RAINFALL AFFECTS CHAPARRAL AREA, ROAD CREWS CLEARING DEBRIS
Overnight rainfall and runoff has created some bodies of standing water in and around the southern Doña Ana County community of Chaparral, possibly leaving some residents stranded. No reports of serious residential or commercial flooding have been received.

EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER ACTIVATED FOR FLOOD RESPONSE
The Doña Ana County Emergency Operations Center has been activated to respond to flooding in many communities south of Las Cruces. The areas hardest hit appear to be Chaparral, Anthony, La Union, Santa Teresa and the City of Sunland Park.

COUNTY BLOOD DRIVE NETS 30 PINTS IN HONOR OF JUDY PRICE
For the sixth consecutive year, Doña Ana County employees rallied to give blood in honor of the late Judy Price, who died Sept. 4, 2001, after a long battle with cancer.

SIXTH ANNUAL JUDY PRICE MEMORIAL BLOOD DRIVE SET FOR TUESDAY, AUG. 1
Doña Ana County employees and the general public will have the opportunity on Aug. 1 to give blood in honor of the late Judy Price, who died Sept. 4, 2001, after a long battle with cancer. The 2006 blood drive will be coordinated by Janine Divyak. To schedule a time to donate, call 525-6130.

COUNTY GETS FOUR HOURS OF RADIO TIME FOR JULY 18
Doña Ana County Public Information Director Jess C. Williams will guest host four hours of talk radio on Tuesday, July 18. He will interview several department heads and elected officials during the show, as well as spend some time educating the audience about how county government works. He will also take calls.

DETENTION CENTER TO GRADUATE CLASS OF 16 CADETS
