DOÑA ANA COUNTY PHONE SERVICE EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS

Telephone service into the Doña Ana County Government Center has suffered brief intermittent outages throughout the day. The Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department also has been affected. Technicians are at work to identify the problem and fix it. If necessary, work will continue through the weekend. read more...

FORMER ELECTIONS SUPERVISOR FAILS TO APPEAL TERMINATION

Former Doña Ana County Elections Supervisor Mari Langford-Pavão’s termination on grounds of substandard job performance and personal misconduct will not be reviewed. Langford-Pavão failed to file an appeal to the Doña Ana County Human Resources Department within 10 calendar days of her termination notification. The deadline for the appeal expired at 5 p.m. today.

ELECTIONS TASK FORCE ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY MEETINGS

The non-partisan advisory task force appointed by the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners to review county voting procedures has announced a series of community meetings -- one in Hatch, one in Sunland Park and two in Las Cruces -- to solicit public input on how the election process can be improved. read more...

Doña Ana County is updating the airport master plan for the Doña Ana County Airport at Santa Teresa. The plan will take a comprehensive look at the 20-year future development needs at the airport and will be coordinated with regional development.

NOTICE OF POTENTIAL QUORUM: JULY 14, 2006

Notice is hereby given that a quorum of the Board of County Commissioners may attend two upcoming meetings. The purpose of this notice is merely to inform the public that its elected member of the Board may be attending the following meetings: Access to Care - Healthy Communities Access Program (HCAP). The meeting will be Friday, July 14th at the Dona Ana County Governmental Center at 8:30 am at 845 N. Motel in the commissioners chambers and a follow-up meeting at Memorial Medical Center at 11:30 a.m., 2450 N. Telshor. SHERIFF GARRISON ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY POLICING INITIATIVE

The Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department has created a new division devoted primarily to the rural residents of Doña Ana County. The Community Enforcement Response Team (CERT) is a community-oriented policing division initially staffed by four deputies.
