INCIDENT AT DETENTION CENTER PROMPTS TEMPORARY LOCKDOWN
An early afternoon incident involving two inmates at the Doña Ana County Detention Center prompted a precautionary lockdown of the facility. Rumors of a riot at the facility are inaccurate. read more...

TREASURER TO OPEN OFFICE ON SATURDAY TO ACCEPT TAX PAYMENTS
To accommodate last-minute property tax payments, Doña Ana County Treasurer Jim Schoonover will open his office in the County Courthouse from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10. Schoonover reminds property owners in Doña Ana County that they have until Dec. 10 to pay their first-half property taxes before state-mandated interest and penalties begin to accumulate. read more...

TREASURER REMINDS PROPERTY OWNERS OF PAYMENT DEADLINE
Doña Ana County Treasurer Jim Schoonover reminds property owners in Doña Ana County that they have until Dec. 10 to pay their first-half property taxes before state-mandated interest and penalties begin to accumulate. To accommodate last-minute payments, the Treasurer’s Office will open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 to process payments.

COUNTY EMPLOYEES DONATE GIFTS TO COLONIAS CHILDREN
For the second consecutive year, Doña Ana County employees have opened their wallets and hearts to bring holiday cheer to some of the area’s poorest families.
Nearly 300 county employees representing all the county’s departments have contributed to the 2005 Colonias Toy Drive.
