RESERVOIR EAST OF FARM AND RANCH MUSEUM RUNNING OVER; BREACH POSSIBLE

A makeshift dam east of the Bruce King Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum is overflowing and in danger of breaching. If the dam should breach, the area around the museum is in danger. Engineers do not believe that residents of the Golf Country Estates are in immediate danger from a gradual breach, but residents are advised that in the event of a sudden failure, some residential flooding could occur. read more...

RUNOFF FILLING PRIVATE RESERVOIR EAST OF FARM AND RANCH MUSEUM

FLOODING ON ROADS AND INTERSTATES REPORTED; DRIVER’S ADVISORY ISSUED

Heavy rains in southern Doña Ana County have caused significant water runoff on I-10 west of Las Cruces and south of Las Cruces on I-25, particularly near mile marker 145 at the intersection of I-25 and I-10, where the roadway is completely covered with running water. Run-off presents a hazard to motorists, and State Police and the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office advise travelers to avoid these areas. read more...

DOÑA ANA COUNTY MAKES USE OF GRANT TO TRACK ILLEGAL DUMPING

In the fall of 2003, Doña Ana County received a mobile government grant from ESRI and Trimble. The grant included hardware, software, and training valued at $14,000. The goal of the program was to foster innovative approaches to solving problems common to government entities. read more...

ART RECEPTION TO BE HELD IN COUNTY MANAGER’S COMPLEX ON OCT. 15

A 64-piece exhibit of student artwork from the Las Cruces Public Schools has been installed in the Grand Lobby of the Doña Ana County Manager’s Complex at 180 W. Amador Ave. in Las Cruces. The exhibit includes paintings, etchings, sculpture and drawings. The artists are primarily elementary students from the Las Cruces Public Schools, with a few middle school artists also showing. read more...
