CRIMINAL COMPLAINT CHARGES JAIL-SLAYING SUSPECT WITH FIRST-DEGREE MURDER

A criminal complaint filed today in Doña Ana County Magistrate Court charges Dominic M. Montoya, 29, of Las Cruces with first-degree murder, possession of a deadly weapon by a prisoner and tampering with evidence, all felonies.

ONIES ROAD TO CLOSE FOR UTILITY WORK

Utility work will necessitate the closure of Onies Acres Road between Snow Road and Highway 478, beginning Thursday, April 6 at 7 a.m. and continuing through Monday, April 10 at 5 p.m. The road will be closed to through traffic. Limited residential traffic will be allowed. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and expect delays. Motorists also are reminded to exercise caution wherever road crews are working.

$10,000 REWARD OFFERED FOR INFORMATION ON DAIRY FIRES

A coalition of Doña Ana County dairy owners has announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest, prosecution and conviction of the arsonist(s) responsible for two hay fires last week at the Buena Vista Dairy Farms near Vado.
