VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT TO FACILITATE 12-STEP PROGRAMS FOR INMATES

The Doña Ana County Detention Center is seeking volunteers who can facilitate a 12-step program for inmates. The weekly Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous program for the mental-health wing of the facility has been curtailed due to a lack of facilitators.

NEW STUDENT ART SHOW ANNOUNCED; RECEPTION SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 8

More than 100 pieces of original student artwork from the Las Cruces and Gadsden Public Schools are being installed in the first-floor corridors of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd. in Las Cruces. The exhibit will include photography, paintings, etchings, drawings and sculpture. The artists range from elementary students to high schoolers. read more...
