DWI CHECKPOINTS SCHEDULED FOR MAY

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department has scheduled two sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols during the month of May. These activities are part of an ongoing effort to reduce DWI-related crashes, injuries and deaths.

Checkpoints and patrols will be conducted May 5 and May 27 in various undisclosed locations throughout Doña Ana County. Checkpoints are usually set up between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m. Deputies will be looking for all types of violations, with an emphasis on intoxicated drivers.

New Mexico law allows for the seizure or forfeiture of vehicles driven by people who have been convicted of multiple DWI offenses.
