Doña Ana County is accepting applications for an open seat on the County Valuation Protest Board.
The two-year appointment requires a commitment of several full workdays each year for protest hearings. The New Mexico State Department of Taxation and Revenue will reimburse each board member at the rate of $80 per day and 25-cents per mile for round-trip transportation on scheduled hearing dates to the Doña Ana County Courthouse.
To be considered, send a letter of interest and a resume to the Valuation Protest Board Nomination Committee c/o Jess Williams, Doña Ana County Public Information Officer, 180 W. Amador Ave., Las Cruces, N.M. 88005. Applicants with substantial knowledge of the Doña Ana County real estate market and appraisal methodology are preferred. Deadline for receipt of applications is 5 p.m. Friday, May 21, 1999. The committee’s nominee for the post will be submitted to the County Commission for approval at the May 25 meeting.
