Capt. Jerry Little retired from the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department in 2002 after 20+ years with the department. Capt. Little will always be known as the founding father of Special Operations for the DASO's Department. Having been one of the original members of the Special Response Team, which was formed in 1991, Capt. Little brought the team from its meager beginnings to what it is today.

Having an extremely vast knowledge of tactical operations, Capt. Little's ideals and teachings are the back bone of the SRT's operational guidelines during tactical missions. In addition to his role with the SRT as Team Commander, Capt. Little also formed the department's first Bomb Squad during the latter part of his career, which is the only law enforcement Bomb Disposal Unit in Southern New Mexico.

Captain Little is currently living his life as a loving husband, a devoted father, a reserve officer with the New Mexico State University Police Department, and still holds his commission with the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department as an adjunct trainer for the Bomb Squad.
