The Special Response Team's primary deployment vehicle is a converted U.S. Air Force Peace Keeper armored personnel carrier. This vehicle has been specially converted in the interior and exterior for use with our SRT unit. The vehicle weighs over 8000 pounds and can reach speeds in excess of 50 miles per hour. It has four wheel drive capability and is street legal. In addition to being highly bullet-resistant, it has the ability to transport an entry team long or short distances, and is used by our team as a retrieval / rescue vehicle and to deploy the team in hostile zones. The Peace Keeper is powered by a Dodge 360 cubic inch engine with automatic transmission and the body sits on a Dodge chassis.

The Special Response Team van is a converted ambulance and is the primary vehicle used by the Team to transport our equipment. In addition, the SRT van is also used as a deployment / transport vehicle for the Special Response Team when traveling long distances or when the services of the Peace Keeper are not needed. The SRT van also serves as the Team's mobile command post on SRT deployments and is frequently used to stage the Team's tactical medics.
