ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES GIVES DOÑA ANA COUNTY AUDIT AWARD

The New Mexico Association of Counties (NMAC) has named Doña Ana County the winner of the FY 2017 Audit Accountability Award for large counties. The award recognizes the county’s unprecedented seven consecutive clean audits.
Each year NMAC and the state auditor select counties that prove their dedication to ethical financial practices that safeguard their public assets.
“We are dedicated to a principal,” said Doña Ana County Assistant Manager for Administration Vince Pokluda. “Managing these financial protocols requires persistence and diligence. It’s an effort that is a credit to many people within our Finance Department.”
He noted that, in 2011, the New Mexico State Auditor’s Office bestowed its very first Accountability Award for Large County Audit Achievement to Doña Ana County. The award was co-sponsored by the New Mexico Association of Counties.
