COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL IMPLEMENTS SCALED-BACK WINTER SCHEDULE

 

            Doña Ana County’s Animal Control field staff have switched to winter hours as of this week.
            Officers will be in the field from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days per week, excluding holidays, when the hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 
            After-hours animal emergencies will be handled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Residents are advised not to trap stray dogs/cats after 5 p.m. as officers are unlikely to retrieve them until the following day.
            During winter hours, there will be one officer on-call after 7 p.m., for emergencies only. Emergencies include animal bites to humans, animal attacks against humans or livestock, injured animals and suspected rabies cases.
            Winter operational hours will remain in effect through March 9, 2019.
