COUNTY ASSESSOR: PROPERTY VALUES MAILED, PROTEST DEADLINE LOOMS

            According to the Doña Ana County Assessor’s Office, notices of value were mailed to property owners on April 1, 2019 for the 2019 tax year, and the deadline looms if property owners wish to file a protest.
            In accordance with New Mexico property tax code, residents who wish to dispute their valuation notice have until April 30, 2019 to file a protest or update their status to qualify for head of household, veteran’s, charitable or educational exemption under the code.
            Property owners with questions about the protest or status change process can go to the assessor’s office any time during regular business hours at the Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 North Motel Boulevard. For residents outside the Las Cruces area, staff members will be available to answer questions at the following offsite locations:

            Protests and other types of reporting will not be accepted after the April 30 deadline. Forms to apply may be downloaded at www.donaanacounty.org/assessor.
