DETENTION CENTER GRADUATES FIVE NEW CADETS

After completing the 10-week-long Basic Detention Officers’ Academy, five cadets will be sworn in at a graduation ceremony in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd. at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.
Training includes a thorough review of current policies, procedures and software currently used at the Doña Ana County Detention Center. Before on-the-job training while shadowing a senior officer, cadets learn about searches, first aid, booking, transportation and other procedures.
Doña Ana County Detention Center Director Daniel H. Peters will deliver the commencement address. Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Samantha Madrid will administer the oaths of service.
Detention officer graduates are Oscar Anaya, Alberto Barrio, María Cruz, Enrique Jaquez and Jesus Segoviano.  The ceremony is open to the public.
