MAILING ADDRESS VERIFICATION AVOIDS FEES

Doña Ana County Treasurer Eric L. Rodriguez reminds and encourages all property owners to verify their mailing address before Nov. 1, which is the date the office will mail out a property tax bill to owners on record for each property, as of Oct. 7.
“Our goal is to ensure that taxpayers are not blindsided with additional fees from being unaware of their obligation to update their mailing address,” Rodriguez said.
Pursuant to New Mexico state statutes 7-38-36 and 7-38-47, property taxes are the personal obligation of each property owner.  If someone recently purchased a new property or paid off a lien on their current property, they or the previous owner or lienholder are responsible for the future payment arrangements of the tax liability.
The Treasurer’s Office does not have the authority to remove penalty and interest fees from any account, for failure to receive a tax bill.
To verify or update mailing addresses, please visit www.donaanacounty.org/treasurer, email taxbill@donaanacounty.org, or call 575-647-7433.
