VADO/DEL CERRO RESIDENTS ASKED FOR INPUT ON FLOOD STUDY

VADO/DEL CERRO RESIDENTS ASKED FOR INPUT ON FLOOD STUDY

The Doña Ana County Flood Commission will host a public meeting for the residents of Vado/Del Cerro to discuss findings from a current flood study and seek input on additional improvements to the area.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, June 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Vado/Del Cerro Community Resource Center, 180 La Fe Avenue.
Representatives from Smith Engineering, the company contracted to conduct the study, will be on hand. Staff from the Doña Ana County Flood Commission will also be in attendance to update residents on a Drainage Master Plan for the Vado/Del Cerro colonias that identifies flooding and drainage issues. The master plan, according to staff, will hopefully generate some future capital improvement projects.
A similar public meeting was held in January to solicit input from residents. Information gathered at that meeting has been implemented in the master plan that will be discussed with residents on June 11.
Residents who cannot attend the meeting but would like additional information can call Michael Garza at (575) 525-5553.
