WEIR ELECTED CHAIR OF NMAC HUMAN RESOURCES AFFILIATE

 

            Doña Ana County Human Resources Director Deb Weir has been elected by her peers to lead the New Mexico Association of Counties Human Resources Affiliate for the next year.
            As chair of the affiliate, Weir will plan, prepare and conduct meetings at each conference and any workshops, training sessions or other affiliate program. She also will serve on the NMAC Advisory Council, present resolutions and legislative proposals adopted by the affiliate to the NMAC Board of Directors, maintain financial records, attendance records and minutes for the NMAC archives, appoint committees as appropriate and perform other duties as assigned by the NMAC Board of Directors.
            Weir has been Doña Ana County’s HR director since January of 2010. She worked previously as an HR professional for both New Mexico State University, Franklin College, in Franklin, Indiana, Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H., and as the HR director of the Manchester Child and Family Services.
            Weir holds her master’s degree in personnel administration from Kent State University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University. She is a member in good standing of multiple professional organizations devoted to best practices in the human resources field.
            “Deb has the skill set and breadth of experience to greatly assist other HR professionals around the state in this important role for NMAC,” said Doña Ana County Manager Fernando R. Macias. “She has the full support of the management team in this endeavor that showcases her considerable skills and expertise, from which Doña Ana County has benefitted greatly for nearly a decade.”
