NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE DOÑA ANA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The following will be considered at a Special Meeting of the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners to be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hatch High School Auditorium, 119 East Herrera Street, Hatch, New Mexico:

  • Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation.
  • Roll Call of Commission Members Present and Determination of Quorum.

COMMISSION CONVENES AS THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN OPEN SESSION.

  1. Welcoming remarks by Hatch Mayor Judd Nordyke and a presentation by Jim Hayhoe, the Village's consultant on spaceport affairs, who will address: 1) the County's Foreign Trade Zone and the possibility of extending it to include Hatch's industrial park; and 2) the economical impact on northern Doña Ana County of the proposed Southwest Regional Spaceport.
  2. An update on the Milagro wastewater project - Sue Padilla, Director, Utilities and Environmental Services, will discuss.
  3. A presentation regarding fire and emergency service infrastructure improvements in northern Doña Ana County - Fire Marshal Paul Chavez will discuss.
  4. A presentation on the Army Corps of Engineers' Hatch flood control project - Paul Dugie, Flood Commission Director, will discuss.
  5. A presentation on significant changes to election laws, the current legislative session, and upcoming elections in Hatch - Mari J. Langford-Pavão, Supervisor of Elections, County Clerk's Department, will discuss.

COMMISSION ADJOURNS AS THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
