SCSWA RESUMES NORMAL HOURS AT 8 COUNTY COLLECTION CENTERS AND CHAPARRAL COLLECTIONS AND RECYCLING CENTER

Normal hours are now resumed at the eight (8) County Collection Centers throughout Doña Ana County, as well as the Chaparral Collection and Recycling Center.

Residents who utilize the Anthony, Butterfield, Garfield, Hatch, Hill, La Mesa, La Union and Mesquite sites for dropping off trash and recycling may now continue to do so during regular hours of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular hours for the Garfield location are on Saturdays only from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Chaparral Collection and Recycling Center is open Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Temporarily, punch cards are not necessary and fees have been waived; there is no charge to dump up to 200 lbs. of solid waste; that’s the amount it takes to fill the back of a pickup level with the sides of the bed of a pickup truck.

No more than 5 people in the tipping area at one time. Residents are urged to continue social distancing and wear gloves and a mask to avoid exposure to the Coronavirus.

Until further notice, the Amador Avenue Transfer Station – 2865 Amador Ave., Las Cruces – remains closed to general public. Only Essential Businesses may bring in solid waste at this location. Essential Businesses must provide a letter documenting the name of business, the type of business, name of employee, contact information (address and phone numbers) for the business and the employee.

Recycling centers in Las Cruces also remain temporarily closed:

  • Las Cruces Recycling Center Dropoff – 2855 Amador Ave.
  • Sonoma Ranch Recycling Drop Off Center – 555 S. Sonoma Ranch Blvd.
